GSCS I.III - Whither I Go

  • Westmoreland Congregational UCC 1 Westmoreland Circle Dr. Bethesda, MD 20816 (map)

500 years of vocal music contemplating our shared mortality. Featuring vocal ensemble Third Practice.

Featuring vocal works of Josquin, Merula, Purcell and bridging them to the works of living composers such as David Lang, Meredith Monk, and Henryk Górecki, the vocalists of Washington DC based vocal ensemble "Third Practice" will invite an intimate stairwell audience to explore our shared mortality. This concert seeks to explore the spatial and sonic properties of the stairwell, and exhibit examples of modern choral works which are, despite their indulgence of the macabre, profoundly beautiful.
