Vocal Arts DC presents
Brenda Rae, soprano
With Jonathan Ware, piano

Following acclaimed debuts in London, Paris, Milan, and other European capitals, Juilliard-trained American coloratura soprano Brenda Rae makes her Washington debut just prior to her Metropolitan Opera debut in Handel's Agrippina. Her recital, in collaboration with pianist Jonathan Ware, features songs by Richard Strauss, Fanny Mendelssohn, Franz Liszt, Dominick Argento's "Elizabeth's Songs," and the world premiere of a new work composed expressly for her by Lowell Liebermann.

"Rae was incandescent, creating a three-dimensional character whose fluid coloratura mirrored the passionate meanderings of her mind." (The Washington Post)
