Off-Campus Street Parking or Drop-Off

Georgetown is Zone 2, but none of this applies during the weekend, when parking is open on 37th Street and the cross streets P, O, and N.  You can park on these streets, or be dropped off here (3700 O St. NW) and enter campus through the main gate at the intersection of 37th and O.

To New North Hall, Registration, and Studio A:

From there, walk toward the statue of John Carroll. Follow the driveway to the right of Healy Hall (the big stone building with the clocktower—you'll keep Healy Hall on your left and Copley Hall and the Davis Performing Arts Center's Gonda Theatre sign will be on your right). The entrance to New North Hall is on your left, directly after Old North Hall and marked with a sign.

To McNeir Hall only:

From the campus entrance, walk toward the statue of John Carroll. Follow the driveway to the right of Healy Hall (the big stone building with the clocktower—you'll keep Healy Hall on your left and Copley Hall and the Davis Performing Arts Center's Gonda Theatre sign will be on your right). Continue down the driveway and follow it through the tunnel. Please be advised there may be traffic through here. Make an immediate right, walk down the steps, and McNeir Hall is the first door on the right.

The following applies to pay-for-parking on campus:

The entrance you'll want to use for parking on campus is ONLY ACCESSIBLE OFF OF CANAL ROAD (the GPS address the University uses is approximately 3611 Canal Rd., NW in Washington, DC).

SWQ Garage marked with a green "P" on this map:

  • Pull up to the second entrance of the SWQ Southwest Quad garage . (If full to capacity for some reason, you should be directed across campus and given a map to park in the Leavey Center garage.)  If you have any questions, feel free to give a call (info listed at bottom of message) and we're happy to assist.

  • If possible, park on the P-3 level you entered on in SWQ; once you pull into the garage and bear right, try taking the first right into the “additional parking” area since it can be easier to find spots there, but other levels will work as well.

  • When you emerge from the car, follow signs to the elevator -- from the additional parking area, it's up a few stairs and to the right -- and take it up to the main level

Walking directions from SWQ garage to McNeir/New North Hall:

If you immediately emerge outdoors, you will see a campus map in front of you.  From the outdoor campus map: Turn right at the campus map onto the sidewalk.  You’ll pass O’Donovan Hall on your right.  Continue across the street on Library Walk and head up the hill.  You’ll pass the Healey Family Student Center on your right.  Take a left onto the road past the white road barriers. You’ll continue on this alleyway, keeping Anne Marie Becraft Hall on your left, and you’ll pass Dahlgren Chapel on your right.  Straight ahead will be a huge brick tunnel with a blinking yellow light. Once you reach the light/tunnel, McNeir Auditorium is immediately on your left, down a few stairs, just inside that door. The music program entrance in New North Hall will be on your right.

If you emerge indoors (yellow pushpin on the map), go out the door on your left, outside into a tunnel and then turn left immediately.  You'll continue past the Hoya Snaxa shop and once outside the archway, turn right onto the sidewalk (the athletic field will be on your left).  When you come to the stop sign, turn right. Continue down this sidewalk until you are in front of O'Donovan Hall.  Take a left onto Library Walk and continue up the hill.  You’ll pass the and Healey Family Student Center on your right.  Take a left onto the road past the white road barriers. You’ll continue on this alleyway, keeping Anne Marie Becraft Hall on your left, and you’ll pass Dahlgren Chapel on your right. Straight ahead will be a huge brick tunnel with a blinking yellow light. Once you reach the light/tunnel, McNeir Auditorium is immediately on your left, down some stairs, just inside that door. The music program entrance in New North Hall will be on your right.
